Fighting Game Fundamentals

  • Blocking: hold back to block; learn to block low and overhead attacks
  • Neutral: control the space between you and your opponent with pokes and bending projectiles
  • Punishing: whiff-punish unsafe moves; every character has slow attacks you can capitalize on
  • Anti-air: knock jumping opponents out of the sky before they land pressure

Picking Your First Fighter

Beginners usually do best on straightforward, strong-plan characters. Start with Aang for mobility, Korra for pressure, Zuko for direct offense, or Toph if you prefer patient control. If you like traps and tools, try Sokka.

Flow, Energy Points & Supports

Use Flow to reposition, evade and keep pressure moving. Build Energy Points through clean play, then spend them on enhanced specials and Super Arts when you have a confirmed opening. Support Characters are part of the gameplan too: pick a support that covers your fighter’s weakness rather than only chasing damage.

Training Mode Checklist

  • Practice your safest poke and your fastest punish
  • Record a common jump-in and train your anti-air response
  • Use hitbox and frame-data tools to see which attacks are unsafe
  • Save one simple corner route and one midscreen route for your main
